Chest Rigs
When to choose a Chest Rig over a Plate Carrier
The primary difference between these two load-bearing systems is the ability to carry ballistic armor plates.
A plate carrier is designed to provide additional protection by accommodating armor plates. When security and survivability are the priority, the added protection becomes essential, although it comes with the disadvantage of increased weight and reduced mobility.
A chest rig, on the other hand, is focused on speed, mobility, and comfort. When agility and performance are the priority, a lighter and more minimalist setup allows for greater freedom of movement and reduced fatigue.
In simple terms:
* Plate Carrier → Prioritizes protection and durability
* Chest Rig → Prioritizes speed, comfort, and mobility
